As a Designer at Nordstrom, you will own the seasonal brand design, and you'll create products that exceed our customer expectations - making them feel good and look their best!
A day in the life…
Supports design leadership in building Seasonal Brand Design Direction for the tween activewear category—balancing trend, performance needs, and tween‑friendly aesthetics.
Customer‑centric approach: Conducts ongoing research into tween behavior, preferences, activities, and emerging youth culture trends, along with competitive market shifts in activewear.
Owns concept and design for assigned product categories, ensuring alignment with brand direction, seasonal concepts, functionality needs, and the line plan.
Researches and selects performance materials, active trims, novelty details, and fabric technologies suited for tween comfort and movement; works closely with the print team to bring playful, energetic, and age‑appropriate graphics to life.
Partners with leadership to develop seasonal color palettes, ensuring they resonate with the tween customer and trend forecasts.
Supports design leadership in creating and curating visual tools needed for seasonal storytelling—mood boards, fabric boards, color stories, silhouette overviews, and digital presentation assets.
Collaborates effectively with cross‑functional partners including merchandising, tech design, production, and sourcing to deliver on quality, cost, and fit expectations unique to tween activewear.
Promotes a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and forward‑thinking solutions appropriate for a fast‑moving youth activewear category.
You own this if you have…
Bachelor's degree in Design preferred
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the design industry, ideally with experience in activewear, kidswear, tween, or youth-focused apparel.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Adobe CS (required), MS Office suite and ability to hand‑sketch. Able to quickly adapt to new technology and systems
Strong time management and multi‑tasking skills
Strong understanding of industry and trends within your assigned categories.

Pay The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.
$93,500.00 - $155,000.00 Annual. This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
