Senior Director, Engineering, Platform Infrastructure

Hybrid role based in New York City, 2-3 days per week at 60 Madison Avenue. Candidates must be based in the NYC metro area or relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on‑sites.

Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you will lead the Platform Infrastructure organization responsible for building and operating the foundational systems that power our mental healthcare platform. Your leadership will directly impact developer productivity, system reliability, and the company’s ability to scale and innovate.

What You’ll Do

Platform Strategy & Architecture: Define and execute the platform infrastructure strategy, evolving cloud‑native distributed systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and strong developer experience through a platform‑as‑a‑product mindset.

Engineering Leadership & Execution: Lead and scale a high‑performing engineering organization, driving predictable delivery, strong execution practices, and cross‑functional alignment across Product, Design, Security, and Data.

Developer Experience & Productivity: Build self‑service platform capabilities and invest in tooling (CI/CD, internal platforms) to improve developer productivity and accelerate time‑to‑market.

Reliability, DevOps & Operational Excellence: Champion DevOps and SRE practices, ensuring high system availability, observability, and continuous improvement in incident management and operational processes.

AI‑Driven Infrastructure & Automation: Leverage AI/ML and automation to enhance infrastructure efficiency, reliability, and proactive operations.

Security, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure robust security, privacy, and compliance standards through best practices, audits, and risk mitigation strategies.

Vendor & Cost Management: Manage vendor partnerships while driving cost optimization, capacity planning, and efficient resource utilization.

Organizational Leadership & Impact: Contribute to company‑wide leadership initiatives, including workforce planning and organizational design, while defining and tracking key platform success metrics.

What You’ll Bring

Deep expertise in cloud‑native architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure), distributed systems, and infrastructure‑as‑code (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes).

Proven experience leading and scaling platform or infrastructure engineering teams in high‑growth or complex environments.

Strong track record of implementing DevOps, SRE, and platform engineering practices at scale.

Experience building internal platforms and developer tooling that significantly improve productivity and reliability.

Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long‑term vision and hands‑on execution.

Strong cross‑functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at executive levels.

Experience managing large‑scale systems with high availability, security, and compliance requirements.

Demonstrated ability to drive measurable outcomes (e.g., uptime, deployment frequency, MTTR, cost optimization).

Salary Target base salary range: $230,000 - $288,000 (part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits). Individual pay may vary based on experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
