Role Overview The Intern will work with CMF Marketing, LLC to support a variety of marketing, research, promotional, and event coordination efforts. This role provides hands‑on experience in event marketing and community engagement, with opportunities to contribute to several high‑profile projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities may include assisting with planning, promotion, and on‑site coordination for events such as the Girlfriends Getaway Weekend, Michigan Makers Market, Muskegon Lake Celebration, book‑related events, and other special projects. The Intern may also assist with marketing outreach, content development, research, and general event logistics.

This position is primarily remote, allowing for flexible work arrangements. However, the Intern will be expected to attend and assist in person at select events. All required in‑person event dates will be communicated and discussed with the Intern prior to acceptance of the position.

This internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in marketing, event planning, and community‑focused programming while working closely with a small, dynamic team.

Task Overview

Assist with marketing, promotional efforts, social media content, and communications.

Support event preparation, including sponsorship coordination, giveaways, and logistical planning.

Assist with organizing, designing, and coordinating event signage and printed materials.

Provide support with event setup and teardown as needed.

Serve as an on‑site assistant during events to help ensure smooth operations.

Participate in post‑event wrap‑up and evaluation meetings.

Provide additional support on anything else that falls within the marketing/event project needs.

Requirements

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Ability to work collaboratively with a team while also demonstrating initiative and working independently when needed.

Ability to perform well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and interact professionally with a variety of partners and stakeholders.

Availability to attend meetings related to events and provide additional support hours as event dates approach.

Ability to assist with physical event tasks, including occasional lifting of event materials and spending extended periods of time on your feet during event setup, execution, and teardown.

Demonstrated enthusiasm for community engagement and the ability to represent CMF Marketing, LLC in a professional and positive manner.

Strong communication skills and access to reliable tools for communication and transportation, including a computer, email, mobile phone, and personal vehicle.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Meta platforms, Canva, and/or Adobe InDesign, with the willingness and ability to learn additional online tools and software as needed.

Flexibility to assist with additional duties and responsibilities related to marketing and event coordination as needed.

Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality/Tourism, or Business.
