Job description The part-time Public Relations Assistant is responsible for supporting the needs of the business including: administrative duties, taking notes, calendar management, account support, sample trafficking, report creation, and honing writing skills. This position knows how to make things happen and is a creative problem-solver who loves a fast-paced environment. Additionally, the assistant on the team will love building strong team relationships and will help instill a positive and productive work environment. They should have a can-do attitude and be a team player. There is the opportunity for this position to evolve into a full time position.
Job Responsibilities
Create and draft press coverage reports on a monthly and weekly basis for clients
Build, manage and update database of media and influencers
Prepare detailed agenda recap notes for client calls/meetings for circulation post meetings
Monitor media coverage and create press clippings to clients in a timely manner
Drafting and contributing to all necessary media and client materials as directed including fact sheets, press releases, bios, and media alerts
Ideate and contribute to developing creative pitch angles across clients under the direction of manager
Tracking industry trends and identifying relevant opportunities for clients
Support team with event production, organization and set up of special events
Participate in creative brainstorming sessions
Qualifications
1-2 years of experience in PR, communications or marketing (including internships)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organized and detail oriented with an ability to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
Proactive and productive attitude
Strong understanding of current events, social media, pop culture and trends and ability to think creatively
This position is located in our New York office, with a hybrid work schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in-office). This is a part-time role of approximately 15–20 hours per week, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time position. The estimated pay range for this position is $20–$25/hour.
