Mechanical Designer
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic mechanical design team, playing a crucial role in projects such as data centers, industrial buildings, and offices. Responsibilities
Support the design and documentation of mechanical and plumbing systems using Revit for various projects.
Develop detailed HVAC and plumbing system layouts within Revit, including ductwork, piping, and equipment placement.
Perform engineering calculations for load analysis, equipment sizing, and system performance optimization.
Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, structural engineers, and other disciplines to integrate mechanical systems within Revit models.
Write and edit mechanical equipment specifications, selecting equipment, mechanical systems, and devices with a focus on cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency.
Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders; assist with preparation of record drawings; participate in site visits, inspections, and commissioning work.
Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and national building codes, standards, and sustainability requirements.
Collaborate with project managers, clients, and vendors to resolve technical challenges and enhance design efficiency.
Stay updated on the latest Revit features, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement in mechanical design workflows.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Experience with MEP systems, specifically HVAC and liquid cooling.
3-5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer.
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience designing HVAC systems, liquid cooling design, plumbing, and piping.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
EIT preferred.
1 year of experience with mission-critical projects such as advanced manufacturing, data centers, semiconductor, and healthcare.
Proficiency in Bluebeam.
LEED AP BD+C or ASHRAE certification is a plus.
Work Environment This role offers the flexibility of working 100% remotely unless based locally in Phoenix, AZ, or Austin, TX, where a hybrid work schedule is available. The new office in AZ, located on Tempe Town Lake, offers a hotel-like feel. The position is open to candidates located in approved states such as AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IN, MI, MO, NV, OK, SC, TX, WA, WV, or UT. Candidates outside these states must be willing to relocate.
