Hill House Home is seeking a Technical Designer to support our New York Team. This role will support the Product team across all women's RTW categories. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate fit, construction, and quality across proto, fit, and production samples. The ideal candidate brings strong pattern knowledge, excellent communication skills, and experience working closely with cross-functional partners and vendors. This role is a hybrid position, working from our NYC offices 3-4 days per week.
What You’ll Do:
Partner with Design and Development teams to understand garment fit, construction, and material intent at the hand-off stage Maintain and update tech packs for development and production, ensuring accurate construction details, POMs, and technical sketches, while keeping consistency across seasonal styles Measure and evaluate incoming production samples, preparing them for fittings and analyzing for accuracy and quality Attend and lead production fittings as needed, taking detailed notes while identifying issues and providing recommendations for improvements Communicate style updates clearly to overseas factories in a timely manner, addressing fit, construction, and workmanship enhancements Issue and approve graded specifications for photoshoot samples and at final approval stage - while conducting periodic plus-size fittings to support accurate and inclusive sizing Update WIP and track factory timelines in tandem with personal workload to ensure all deliverables are on time and maintained Communicates daily with overseas vendors re: fit, specs, grading issues and construction via fit comments with senior tech designers Manage personal workflow and workload to ensure timely delivery of all assigned product areas Ensure fit consistency across related styles and uphold brand standards in alignment with customer feedback Support TOP sample management, ensuring final samples meet all expectations Provide accurate production specifications for the eCommerce team to support customer knowledge on Hill House Home product and fit Perform additional duties as needed in support of company goals and daily operations Who You Are:
4+ years of experience Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or a related field Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Creative Suite, and CAD software for creating technical sketches and specifications Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and textiles Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical information clearly Experience with PLM systems is a plus Compensation for the role will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
