
Associate Technical Designer

NYC Alliance Company LLC is seeking a talented Associate Technical Designer to join our team. This role supports the technical design process from concept through production, ensuring garments meet fit, quality, and construction standards. As an Associate Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our product designs and specifications. The ideal candidate will have some experience working within private label.
Responsibilities
Create and maintain accurate and detailed technical specifications, including measurements, construction details, and fit comments
Review and analyze samples to ensure they meet design and quality standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and sourcing, to ensure smooth product development and manufacturing processes
Conduct fit sessions and provide feedback on garment fit and construction
Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers to address any technical issues or concerns
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in garment construction techniques
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
2+ years of experience as a Technical Designer in the apparel industry
Proficiency in technical design software, such as Adobe Illustrator and Gerber Accumark
Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and patternmaking
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Detail-oriented and highly organized
Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines
Knowledge of PLM systems is a plus
