The Department of Art at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York invites applications for a
Lecturer (10‑month)
position. Candidates should be comfortable working in an interdisciplinary art and design environment and will focus on graphic communication for both digital and print formats, balancing formal and conceptual issues.
Responsibilities
Teach three courses each semester across BFA, BA and MFA levels.
Advise students and mentor them in their artistic and design work.
Contribute to the development and review of the design curriculum.
Qualifications
BFA, MFA or MDes in Art, Design or a related field, conferred by time of appointment.
Two years of non‑TA teaching experience in a college or university setting.
Professional knowledge of graphic design, design history, methodology, and critical issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Expertise in branding, identity, print design, digital publishing, typography and visual rhetoric with at least three years of professional or creative activity.
Experience in web design, UI/UX, mobile apps, AI and ethical design practices, and emergent media/hybrid forms.
