The Lead Sales Application Engineer (SAE) provides technical leadership and mentorship to the Sales Application Engineering team while supporting complex or strategic customer opportunities. This role partners cross‑functionally with Sales, Product Management, Continuous Improvement, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to ensure all technical, commercial, and operational requirements are met for each build. The Lead SAE serves as a subject‑matter expert, guiding team members, elevating project quality, and driving continuous improvement across processes and tools. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Act as the escalation point for complex designs, high‑visibility customer projects, or non‑standard product applications Responsible for the design and execution of client projects, and to a limited extent project management, in partnership with the Sales team Provide technical and application support to the Sales team, including preparation of installation and technical drawings, design and use reviews, and participation in customer meetings alongside Sales Coordinate technical guidance for international team members to ensure consistent application of engineering processes and product use across regions Collaborate closely with assigned Sales team members to support process improvements, clarify sales support expectations, and ensure timely project completion Analyze recurring issues or bottlenecks and recommend systemic improvements to reduce waste and enhance customer experience Troubleshoot and resolve project challenges and site discrepancies quickly and in a cost‑effective manner Partner with Product Management to support the implementation of new and existing products, including research and development efforts, application guidance, and product improvement initiatives Perform all other duties as assigned. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Comply with all OSHA, and company safety policies, procedures and requirements. Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards. Attend scheduled safety training. Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed safety goals and plans. Recommend improved safety practices. Practice safe work habits and follow general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE). Adhere to and ensure lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained. Product Safety And Quality
Responsible for supporting and complying with the company’s Integrated Management System, which aligns with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety) standards. Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility by following established IMS procedures aligned with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
2+ years of experience in a lead, senior, or mentoring role within an engineering, design, or technical sales support team Two or more years of experience using SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modeling software Solid understanding of drafting and design principles, including parametric modeling concepts Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard business software Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment while demonstrating strong time management, problem‑solving, and communication skills Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams, including Sales, CAD and BIM drafters, Production, and Installation teams Experience performing site measurements or supporting field installations Experience working with distributed or international engineering or sales teams strongly preferred Physical Requirements
This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional walking and standing in a manufacturing environment may be required. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally. Regular use of office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and scanners. May require occasional visits to the production floor, where safety precautions such as PPE may be necessary. The work environment is primarily an office setting, with some exposure to manufacturing areas that may include noise, machinery, and temperature fluctuations.
