Entry Level Engineer – Lighting Department
We are seeking an enthusiastic Entry Level Engineer to join our Lighting Department. This role involves working closely with customers and supporting the operation in Hernando, Citrus, and Sumter Counties. The position is customer-facing and requires effective communication and design skills to manage lighting projects from initiation to completion.
Responsibilities
Communicate with customers through phone, email, and in-person meetings.
Visit customer sites to verify existing conditions and discuss their lighting requests.
Review and update billing information, develop lighting proposals, contracts, and calculate any Contribution In Aid of Construction (CIAC) costs.
Log customer interactions and maintain communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and submit necessary permit packages, including locating and outage information, and stake future point locations.
Ensure work orders are maintained with accurate Target Start and Target Finish dates.
Design projects in an economically efficient manner, avoiding the need for frequent adjustments.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and lighting design tools.
Knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
Experience in lighting design and utility services.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate’s degree in engineering, technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience in lighting, electrical, or engineering support roles is a plus.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Comfortable working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Work Environment This role involves approximately a 60% focus on office and design work, with the remaining 40% dedicated to field-related tasks. The work balance may fluctuate weekly based on project needs.
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits Pay range: $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
