Social Media Manager

Askamelia, Wilmington, NC, United States

We are hiring a Social Media Manager who will be embedded at the practice level – equal parts content creator, journalist, and digital strategist – to bring those surgeons and their work to life across our social channels.

Full Time

About the Opportunity Amelia Aesthetics is a multi-market, surgeon-led plastic surgery and medspa brand built on clinical excellence, empathetic care, and authentic storytelling. Our Raleigh and Wilmington (NC) practices are home to two medspas and six plastic surgeons, each with a distinct voice, specialty focus, and patient community. We are hiring a Social Media Manager who will be embedded at the practice level – equal parts content creator, journalist, and digital strategist – to bring those surgeons and their work to life across our social channels.

This is not a "corporate" social media role. You will be on-site, on set, and on the floor of the OR and in procedure rooms, capturing real moments, conducting provider and patient interviews, and turning clinical expertise into content that educates, inspires, and converts. You will also be a key bridge between the Raleigh and Wilmington practices and the Amelia HQ brand and social team, translating brand strategy into locally relevant execution.

What You’ll Do Content Creation and Production

Plan, shoot, and edit short-form video content (Reels, TikTok, Stories) on-site at the practice, including procedures, provider spotlights, patient education series, and behind the scenes content

Design and produce static graphics, carousels, and long-form video in collaboration with the HQ team as needed

Write compelling captions, scripts and copy tailored to each surgeon’s individual voice and the platform’s audience expectations

Maintain a consistent, practice-wide content calendar spanning all six surgeons across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and emerging platforms

Source, schedule, and manage user-generated content and patient testimonials in compliance with HIPAA and practice consent protocols

Interviewing and Storytelling

Conduct structured and informal on-camera interviews with surgeons and practitioners to extract educational content, procedural insight, and personal brand narrative

Build relationships with patients to facilitate consent-driven testimonial and transformation content - from intake through post-recovery follow up

Identify and pitch compelling story angles around seasonal procedures, new techniques, practice milestones, and community involvement

Translate complex surgical concepts into accessible, engaging content appropriate for a lay audience

Publishing and Community Management

Manage day-to-day publishing across all active channels – scheduling posts, monitoring cadence, and adapting in real time to trending topics and platform algorithm shifts

Monitor comments, DMs and mentions across channels; respond to community engagement in a timely, on-brand manner and elevate clinical or reputation-sensitive inquiries

Coordinate with the front desk, patient coordinator, and clinical teams to capture timely content around consultations, events, and promotional periods

Participate in regular syncs with the Amelia HQ social team to align on brand strategy, campaign direction, platform testing priorities and creative standards

Flag practice-level opportunities and content wins for HQ for potential cross-market amplification

What You Bring Required Qualifications

3+ years of hands‑on social media content creation experience, with a portfolio demonstrating video production, copywriting, and multi‑platform publishing

Demonstrated comfort and skill operating a camera (smartphone) in a professional or medical environment, including lighting, framing, and audio setup

Experience interviewing subjects (on camera) and editing those conversations into compelling short‑ and long‑form content

Proficiency in video editing tools (Capcut, Adobe, or equivalent) and graphic design platforms (Canva, Adobe Express, or equivalent)

Strong writing ability: you can adapt your voice to match six distinct personalities and write both clinical and conversational copy with equal confidence

Solid understanding of Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok algorithms, content formats, and best practices

Highly organized self‑starter who can manage multiple content streams and deadlines without losing creative quality

Comfortable in a medical setting and able to approach sensitive topics (body image, surgical outcomes, recovery) with professionalism and empathy

Ability to spend approx. 2 days a month at our Wilmington, NC practice, capturing content

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in aesthetics, wellness, healthcare, or luxury‑lifestyle verticals

Familiarity with HIPAA‑compliant content workflows, and social media consent practices in a medical setting

Familiarity with social listening tools (Sprout Social, Brandwatch, or equivalent)

Experience with paid social amplification concepts, even if execution is handled by another team

What We Offer

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience

Health, dental, and vision benefits

401(k)

Paid time off and paid holidays

Access to Amelia Aesthetics employee treatment benefits

Friends & Family discounts on medspa and surgical services

A collaborative, creative culture with real opportunity to grow alongside a scaling brand
