Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Reporting to President Sandra Doran, J.D., the Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA) will define a vision for philanthropy that supports the University’s strategic priorities and emergent initiatives. The role includes management and strategic guidance for a team encompassing individual giving, corporate and foundation giving, alumni relations, stewardship, and advancement services, ensuring the team surpasses fundraising goals and activity benchmarks.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, including major, principal, and planned giving.

Oversee corporate and foundation giving initiatives and cultivate mutually beneficial partnerships.

Lead alumni and constituent relations, stewardship, and advancement service efforts.

Manage a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects and collaborate with the President to expand philanthropic support and public awareness.

Act as a chief architect for targeted campaign efforts, charting a course for a comprehensive campaign.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across faculty, student affairs, career services, finance, enrollment, and marketing to accelerate fundraising and engagement.

Provide leadership and foster an adaptive, high-functioning team and a culture of teamwork and execution.

Qualifications:

Minimum of ten years of advancement leadership and fundraising experience in higher education or purpose‑aligned institution.

Proven success in building and leading adaptive and high‑functioning teams.

Demonstrated record of securing major and principal gifts and cultivating corporate and institutional partnerships.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a data‑informed approach to decision making.

Strong storytelling, clear communication, and an accessible collegial leadership style.

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience in a campaign environment is highly desired.
