Our Charlotte office is seeking a Market Research Analyst to join our office leasing team. We’re looking for a strong communicator and proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Position Overview This role focuses on tracking market trends, analyzing property-level and macroeconomic data, and producing clear, actionable insights that inform leasing, investment, and valuation strategies. The Market Research Analyst is responsible for gathering, organizing, and examining data and business intelligence, and—working closely with brokerage, advisory, and marketing teams—developing a wide range of reports and insight-driven deliverables to support clients and new business initiatives.

This position also carries primary responsibility for maintaining and enhancing data quality, ensuring accuracy and consistency across platforms. In collaboration with marketing, the Market Research Analyst will help translate complex insight into compelling, client-ready materials. The Market Research Analyst will track all facets of the local commercial real estate market and proactively apply that knowledge to research initiatives, client projects, and business development efforts.

Responsibilities

Regularly collaborate across all service lines, including office agency, industrial leasing, occupier services, and investment sales

Monitor market indicators such as vacancy, absorption, rental rates, construction pipelines, and sales activity for recurring and ad hoc reporting

Routinely audit, maintain, and expand team-specific proprietary databases of commercial real estate properties, ensuring organization and real-time accuracy

Maintain multiple databases and metric trackers, including lease and sales comparables, ensuring accurate, up-to-date market information and insight into competitive deal terms

Develop clear visual and written narratives, including demographic analyses, market performance studies, and interactive maps, for internal use, client communication, and new business development

Present research and analysis on market and industry trends to internal and external stakeholders, offering actionable insights and takeaways

Work closely with marketing to create thought-provoking content and data-driven storytelling for research publications, media outreach, and pursuit materials

Utilize CRM tools to track current and prospective investment contacts in support of outreach and business development initiatives

Continuously evaluate existing workflows, tools, and best practices, recommending and implementing improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field, required

Three years of relevant experience in commercial real estate, market research, and analytics are required

Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across diverse service lines and disciplines

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products

Proficiency with CoStar and familiarity with commercial real estate data platforms and tools (e.g., GIS, REIS, ESRI, or similar)

Strong initiative and intellectual curiosity; ability to take ideas from concept to execution with minimal supervision

Engaging, adaptable, and professional demeanor with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational and data validation skills with a keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
