Superintendent Heavy Civil / Highway
A prominent Mississippi general contractor is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil/Highway Superintendent to lead field operations. The ideal candidate has a strong track record running crews on work such as highway paving, earthwork, excavation, underground utilities, and related scopes. What You'll Do
Champion a zero-incident culture; oversee all site safety, equipment, and compliance. Plan and manage day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout. Interpret and execute plans, specs, and contracts; ensure work meets QA/QC standards. Build and maintain 3-week look-ahead schedules; sequence work to prevent delays. Determine manpower, equipment, and material needs; coordinate deliveries and logistics. Lead, mentor, and evaluate field personnel; support hiring and training efforts. Maintain accurate project documentation (RFIs, submittals, change orders, diaries, quantities, purchase orders, schedules, as-builts). Collaborate effectively with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and the public. Identify long-lead items and risks early; drive timely solutions to keep projects on schedule and budget. What You Bring
5+ years
supervising heavy civil/highway construction in the field. 5+ years
leadership/people management on heavy civil projects. Deep knowledge of means and methods, costs, scheduling, and quality control. Proficiency reading drawings/specs and managing construction documents. Strong communication and team-building skills; calm under pressure and solutions oriented. Highly organized, self-motivated, and adaptable in a fast-moving environment. Valid driver's license. Benefits
