Summer Nanny for a 12 and 7 year old girls
Jovie, Minnetonka, MN, United States
Family Location
Minnetonka, MN
Summary We are a busy and active family of four – Mom, Dad, and our two daughters, ages 12 and 7. We live across the street from a park and near a regional trail system, so there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures. Our days are often filled with swimming practice, dance, and staying on the move. We love coming together to talk about the girls’ interests and favorite activities, traveling, exploring new places, sharing meals, and trying new foods. When we slow down, both girls love curling up with a good book and getting lost in a story. In the summer, you’ll usually find us outside or enjoying time in our pool, which we use almost every day.
About the Role We are looking for a caregiver who is confident, engaging, and comfortable supporting two active tween girls. Because we have a pool at our home, comfort around water and strong pool safety awareness are essential. Our ideal candidate has experience working with the “tween” age group and understands the unique energy, personalities, and independence that come with this stage. We would love someone who enjoys helping prepare lunches and snacks, is happy to collaborate on ingredients for special meals the girls want to make, and can encourage fun, non-screen activities like visiting the park across the street, taking walks, going to the library, swimming, or jumping on the trampoline. You should be comfortable working independently while maintaining open communication with us, asking questions and reaching out when needed. A good sense of humor, a positive attitude, and a thick skin are helpful when navigating tween dynamics. Bonus points if you’re always up for a dance party and enjoy helping with things like hair, makeup, and picking out fun outfits together.
Job Duties The caregiver will support two active and engaging girls, ages 7 and 12, by facilitating activities that align with their interests and personalities. Responsibilities include encouraging their hobbies, helping with occasional creative projects, and supporting a balance of engaged activities and independent time. The caregiver will also help model and encourage good daily habits, such as practicing good hygiene and washing up when coming in from outside.
Driving is an important part of the role, including daily drop-offs or pick-ups from swim practice for our 12‑year‑old, as well as occasional transportation for half‑day camps, summer learning or tutoring sessions, and other activities. Comfort driving between Minnetonka and Edina is required, and a family vehicle will be available for use.
Additional responsibilities include light household support such as tidying up throughout the day and cleaning up after meals and activities, to help keep shared spaces organized.
Position Highlights 30 hours a week guaranteed, have a fun summer hanging out!
Qualifications • Experienced with siblings and children of similar ages.
• Comfortable with water safety and swimming environments.
• Ability to plan and engage in creative, educational, and physical activities for tweens.
Schedule Starting June 15th, Monday to Friday from 7 am – 3 pm daily with a bit of flexibility, ending August 14th.
Pay Starting at $22/hour.
Additional Information
All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
During this COVID‑19 time, the family expects all caregivers to follow CDC guidelines and practice best hygiene in all aspects of work and personal time.
