Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and motivated Per Diem Porter to support the daily operations of our skilled nursing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment, assisting with facility upkeep, and supporting various departments as needed. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and takes pride in creating a welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and organization of common areas, hallways, and facility grounds
Assist with trash removal, recycling, and proper waste disposal
Support housekeeping with floor care (sweeping, mopping, buffing, and spot cleaning)
Transport equipment, furniture, and supplies throughout the facility as needed
Assist with room setups, moves, and event/activity preparation
Monitor facility for cleanliness and safety concerns, addressing or reporting issues promptly
Respond to spills, accidents, and urgent cleaning needs in a timely mannerMaintain inventory of supplies and notify supervisor when restocking is needed
Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
Schedule & Availability
Required to work every other weekend
Available to work additional shifts during the week as needed (including holidays or coverage for call-outs)
Qualifications
Previous porter, maintenance, or housekeeping experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling
Ability to lift, push, and move equipment or furniture
Comfortable being on feet for extended periods
