Development & Community Engagement Assistant
The Development & Community Engagement Assistant is a part‑time (20‑29 hours per week) non‑exempt employee. Hourly Pay Rate: $20‑$24 per hour, commensurate with experience. Location: 8360 Court Ave, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
The Howard County Arts Council, a multi‑purpose nonprofit arts agency, seeks an in‑person, part‑time Development & Community Engagement Assistant to provide general administrative and event support for the Development team. This position is responsible for administering, coordinating and implementing development, community engagement, office administration, communications, special projects, and general office help/information desk duties, such as answering phones and fielding inquiries.
Qualifications High school diploma or GED plus 2‑3 years of work experience in events or nonprofit administration. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, preferred. Ability to use a PC and related office equipment, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar applications. Must have own transportation, be able to operate an automobile, lift up to 50 pounds, remain seated for long periods, and bend, stoop, reach, and climb without difficulty. Evening and weekend hours are required and must be scheduled in advance.
