Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions and concerns courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about special promotions and the trade‑in program, recommend additional items, apply all selling behaviors, and express gratitude to every guest for choosing GameStop. Prioritize guests over tasks and demonstrate this commitment by circulating throughout the store.

Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS computer system, ensuring top‑class service.

Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering calls promptly and professionally.

Promote GameStop’s unique guest benefits, such as the new title‑reservation program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program.

Ensure that all store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines. Keep all fixtures and equipment in working order.

Complete Omni‑Channel orders daily.

Safeguard company assets through effective inventory control and loss‑prevention practices, including scam awareness, safety best practices, and making bank deposits as required.

Conduct store inventory counts, stock and restock merchandise on shelves and fixtures, and move products from the stock room to the front of the store.

Support store management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.

Count, balance, and reconcile daily business transaction totals accurately in the POS system. Complete required close‑out paperwork and bank deposit slips. Assist management in ensuring the store has sufficient cash and change.

Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and record any discrepancies in the POS system. Report discrepancies to appropriate management.

Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately and promptly.

Visually inspect associates’ and leaders’ packages and/or belongings at store closing or at the end of a shift.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management.

Consistently adhere to GameStop policies and procedures.

Follow all opening and closing procedures.

Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to the store management.

Qualifications

Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.

At least 18 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent.

At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills, both in person and on the phone.

Bilingual English/Spanish speaking and writing skills preferred.

Operate the POS computer system and complete required paperwork.

Basic math skills and alphabetizing skills.

Self‑motivation and ability to work as a team.

Problem‑solving skills and judgment.

Follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.

Deliver bank deposits following safety guidelines.

Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.

Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.

Lift merchandise up to 30 lbs. and reach, bend, stoop, climb ladders as needed.

Stand and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

Compensation $14.23 - $16.98
