Responsibilities
Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply all selling behaviors during transactions, and show gratitude to every guest. Prioritize guests over tasks and circulate throughout the store. Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the POS system, ensuring top-notch guest service. Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering promptly to ensure top-tier service. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards loyalty program. Ensure store areas (including restrooms) are clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines. Ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Complete Omni-Channel orders daily. Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices. Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products from stock room to sales floor to ensure representation and organization. Support store management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals; complete required administrative and operational duties. Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits as required. Check shipments for discrepancies and report issues to management as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls, ensuring proper labeling and packing lists. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures and follow opening/closing procedures. Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management. Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day. Required Job Skills And Abilities
Exceptional guest service skills and genuine, friendly assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Meet performance expectations including attendance, dress, and grooming requirements. Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork; basic math and alphabetizing skills. Self-motivation and ability to work as a team; problem-solving and judgment abilities. Follow instructions and deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines. Flexible schedule, including extended hours/days, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately. Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs. Stand and move for up to 10 hours per day to provide guest service or perform tasks. Benefits
