The ideal candidate will be
comfortable working
in
wet environments
(including occasional fishy smells), able to
stand for extended periods , and flexible with
scheduling , including
weekends, evenings,
and
on-call shifts . Availability to work
Sunday through Wednesday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
is required.
What You Bring We're looking for enthusiastic team players who are ready to roll up their sleeves:
Basic knowledge of aquatic animal care (aquarium/zoo setting preferred)
Guest service or public-facing experience
What You'll Do As an animal welfare host, you'll work alongside expert Aquarists to keep our underwater world thriving:
Assist with
feeding, diet prep, and daily care
of marine & freshwater exhibits
Help maintain clean, healthy, and safe habitats
Deliver
fun, educational presentations
and interact with guests
Support
interactive dive experiences and exhibit programming
Contribute to the ongoing development of aquarium displays
✅ Follow professional standards including AZA, USDA, and company safety guidelines
Qualifications & Experience Education:
Working toward a degree in Life Sciences (Biology, Marine Biology, Zoology, Psychology) or a two-year certification from an accredited aquarium science/zoological program is preferred.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
Comfortable working in wet environments (yes, that includes fishy smells!)
Strong communication and guest interaction skills
Positive, friendly, and service-oriented attitude
Able to stand for long periods and work flexible hours (weekends, evenings, on-call)
Valid Florida Driver's License (or ability to obtain one)
Benefits Pay Range USD $15.00/Hr.
