Ken Garner Manufacturing is seeking a Prep for Paint / Body Technician to join our team in one of our production locations in Chattanooga, TN or Rural Hall, NC or Victoria, Texas. As a manufacturer of high tonnage deep-drawn parts, finished steel weldments, and counterweights for Heavy Equipment and Mobile Cranes for OEMs in heavy industries, we are looking for someone with experience in the machinery industry to join us. Responsibilities
Prepare and sand equipment components to be painted before applying paint and primer materials
Masking and covering of surfaces that do not require painting or touch-up
Apply topcoat paint to equipment components
Operate paint equipment such as paint guns and abrasive blasting equipment
Perform quality inspection on painted components and make necessary touch-up
Maintain accurate log and documentation of painting activities
Communicate with production teams to ensure timely completion and delivery of products
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification a plus
Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role in the machinery industry
Knowledge of paint and finishing techniques
Understanding of paint application equipment, including spray guns
Ability to utilize sanding and grinding equipment
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and ISO quality systems a plus
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to work in a team environment and follow safety policies and standards

10 paid holidays + 1 week vacation after 6 months, 2 weeks after 18 months, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10.
