
Medical Assistant/ Patient Account Rep Oncology

Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Ambulatory Operations, this position provides front and back‑office support. Primarily performs front office duties such as scheduling patient appointments, patient registration, maintaining medical records, determining program eligibility, and billing. Collects essential health, medical, and biographical information from patients to be placed into the medical record. May perform back‑office duties and assists the providers with basic procedures adhering to scope of training and experience. Documents in the medical record.
Qualifications
Ability to meet all job & physical requirements as outlined in the job description or as agreed through a workplace accommodation.
Proof of completion of a medical assistant course from an accredited technical school required.
Training in medical terminology and front and back‑office operations preferred.
Proof of completion of the minimum training required either by certificate or validation of training by physician or qualified individual acting under the direction of a physician within 3 months of hire, per Title 16, to include medication administration by intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal injections, skin tests, and venipuncture or skin puncture for the purpose of withdrawing blood required.
Ability to read, write and speak the Spanish language preferred.
Experience performing phlebotomy techniques including special procedures such as injections, blood cultures, skin tests, skin punctures, finger sticks, and heel sticks preferred.
Typing/computer skills preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
Current CPR certification required.
Current California driver's license required for transport for techs identified by Director. To drive a company vehicle, must have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years and have a clean driving record per RCH insurance carrier.
