Graphic Design Coordinator As a member of the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), you will contribute to the improvement of the public education system by supporting the development, design, and production of informational and educational materials, marketing assets, and web content. Responsibilities

Perform and coordinate graphic design projects in the creation, development, and production of printed, display, and web-based materials or products used in informational and educational programs, marketing and advertising efforts, promotional or retain use or similar purposes.

Design, lay out and produce department publications, newsletters, brochures, signs, banners, displays or other products using appropriate graphic design tools including large-format and desktop printers, laminator, dry‑mount press, and other equipment as needed.

Create, develop and incorporate complex themes and designs to produce complete layout designs that incorporate all components into products for promotional and marketing of informational and educational material; create illustrations by hand when necessary; proof products to ensure they are free from spelling and other errors.

Maintain a library of photos for department usage; work with designers to assemble and maintain a digital library of photos, images, completed projects and digital files for reproduction; recommend acquisition of software and hardware technology.

Coordinate managing the agency and department website and electronic publications; create computer-generated designs for web pages and print projects using industry-standard graphic-design software; work closely with the digital accessibility coordinator to ensure all designs are accessible.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements Education:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, commercial art, studio art or a closely related field.

Experience, Training, or Skills:

Two years of experience in graphic design.

Substitute Experience for Education:

Experience in one of the above areas will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
