Part-Time Digital Marketing Intern

Position Overview The Digital Marketing Intern will support the marketing and communications team in promoting Jewish Federation of Kansas City’s events, programs, and initiatives. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented student interested in gaining hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, event promotion, and audience engagement.

The intern will play a key role in helping marketing materials reach the right audiences, increasing event registrations, and supporting digital marketing efforts for Federation events and programs.

This is a paid non-exempt, part-time position, in the office 3-4 days a week. Anticipated dates are June-mid-August (flexible based on school calendar) with the possibility of extending the internship. The intern will report to the Marketing Manager.

Key Responsibilities (Event Marketing Focus)

Assist with planning and executing marketing campaigns that support the full event promotion cycle, from event launch through post-event follow-up

Create graphics and marketing materials for upcoming events, including digital flyers, email graphics, and social media assets (primarily using Canva)

Build and schedule email campaigns to promote programs and events

Assist in creating and managing event registration forms (training provided for RegFox)

Support social media promotion for events by creating graphics, captions, and promotional content

Attend select local events (during work hours) to capture photos and video for marketing and social media use

Additional Tasks (as Needed)

Help organize and update marketing data, including email lists and audience segments

Assist in website redesign, including meeting with internal program manager to update website content

Contribute to the creation of broader campaign marketing materials

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Basic graphic design and layout skills

Experience with Canva or other graphic design software, and mass email platforms (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.)

Familiarity with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn

Basic video editing skills (preferred but not required)

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods

Ability to attend local events and move around event spaces

Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
