Account Executive
McGraw PR, New York, NY, United States
Public Relations Account Executive
McGraw PR, a New York-based, results-oriented boutique communications firm specializing in design and architecture, is seeking an Account Executive to join our growing - and fully remote - team. This role is ideally suited to a New York City–area candidate who is detail-oriented, energetic, and self-motivated, with 2–3 years of media relations experience, strong writing skills, and a genuine interest in the home and design category. This is an exciting opportunity to join a creative, collaborative, fast-paced team and work with an A-list roster of clients.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support senior team members on multiple accounts
- Join client and team meetings - assist with preparing agendas, taking notes, and sharing clear recaps with next steps
- Keep internal docs up to date (status reports, trackers, media lists, editorial calendars, and other shared resources)
- Track and organize press coverage
- Research media outlets and new opportunities to pitch clients' work
- Create and disseminate creative pitches and other written materials
- Develop relationships with key media, designers, and industry contacts
- Staying informed on industry events, networking opportunities, award programs, and trends in both the design and publishing industries
- Assist in the research and creation of new business proposals
- Assist in the creation of social media content, as needed
- In-person meeting and event support as needed
Qualifications Include:
- 2-3 years of solid public relations experience, preferably within the home/design category, though that is not essential
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to take initiative, be a self-starter, and pursue opportunities with a minimum of direction. These are especially essential skills due to the fact that the position is, for the time being, remote. A return to the office full-time may be necessary in the future, though it is not currently planned.
- Excellent multitasking skills, the ability to meet tight deadlines, switch focus as needed, and thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment
Benefits Include:
- Competitive salary, $55,000 - $65,000, based on experience, with opportunity to grow
- Generous holiday, vacation, and personal time off policy (plus summer Fridays)
- Health insurance (medical and dental)
- 401K with company match opportunities (after 1 year)
