Work Unit: Financial Aid Operations
Work Schedule 8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required as necessary. Telework schedule may be considered after onboarding.
Hours per week: 40. Months per year: 12.
Compensation Salary Range: $39,058 – $43,000. Anticipated Hiring Range: $39,058 – $43,000.
Responsibilities
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports associated with the Office of Financial Aid, including Federal Pell Grant, Federal TEACH Grant, and Transient Study processing.
Import and export federal grant files to the Department of Education daily.
Serve as the point of contact for the Transient Study program at Charlotte, adjusting aid based on final course outcomes.
Serve as the point of contact for Special Rule Pell Grant (IASG) and Children of Fallen Heroes (CFH) Scholarship, adjusting aid based on documentation received.
Provide backup support for withdrawal processing, study abroad, and part‑term transactions.
Provide financial aid counseling via telephone, e‑mail, and in person, informing prospective and current students, parents, and visitors about policies and procedures.
Collaborate closely with partner offices to ensure federal compliance for transient study students and accurate, timely withdrawal processing.
Perform additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from an accredited institution.
Prior experience working in a higher‑education financial aid office, preferably dealing with federal or state regulations and student records.
Experience with Microsoft and/or Google Suite; intermediate skill level preferred.
Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills.
Exceptional attention to detail in high‑volume environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Equivalent combination of education and experience may suffice if the total qualifies the knowledge and experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education, preferably in financial aid and familiarity with federal or state regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Google Suite applications.
Demonstrated critical‑thinking and analytical problem‑solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and precision.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
