Associate Account Specialist, Energy Efficiency (Field‑Based)

Location: Baltimore, MD (Field‑Based with some Remote Work)

ICF is seeking a field‑based Associate Account Specialist to play a key role in implementing commercial energy efficiency programs in Baltimore, Maryland. The selected candidate will recruit participants from Environmental Justice (EJ) communities into our utility incentive programs, develop and implement engagement strategies to increase the number of energy efficiency projects and participants within identified communities. The position is open to Maryland‑based candidates as well as those willing to relocate.

What You Will Be Doing

Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with businesses in EJ communities to support participation in BGE’s energy efficiency programs.

Cultivate new relationships with service providers and local organizations supporting EJ communities to promote program awareness and adoption.

Identify barriers to participation and develop community‑relevant resolutions.

Prepare and present targeted presentations that promote program awareness.

Collaborate with community‑based organizations on the preparation and delivery of energy‑related community events that promote energy education, program awareness, and community support.

Utilize project management and communication best practices to support customers and service providers throughout their energy efficiency journey.

Assist program managers with the development and implementation of promotional strategies.

Prepare client‑facing status reports documenting performance and activities related to program goals, contractor/consultant participation, and pipeline management.

Support internal operations with tasks such as reporting, application review, forecasting, marketing development, and client support.

Must have a reliable vehicle for local travel (50%–75% of the time; mileage reimbursement provided).

What We Need You To Have (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Energy, Communication or a related field (candidates may substitute one year of experience for each year of education).

At least 1 year of experience in community engagement, preferably working with individuals and groups from under‑resourced communities.

Proven fluency in English.

Valid driver’s license and an operational vehicle (or regular access to a vehicle); must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check.

What We Would Like You To Have

Experience managing or selling energy efficiency opportunities, including HVAC and/or commercial lighting, with stakeholders such as HVAC contractors, distributors, commercial real‑estate owners, federal government or retail customers.

Bilingual in either Spanish or Chinese (reading, writing, and speaking).

Demonstrated event management skills to coordinate and implement community events and initiatives.

Strong commitment to social and environmental justice.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

High degree of self‑confidence, determination, and motivation to excel.

Ability to adapt, prioritize multiple time‑sensitive needs, multitask, and work under strict deadlines.

Desire to work with customers, clients, service providers, and colleagues from all walks of life.

Superior interpersonal skills, including courtesy and a collaborative attitude.

Understanding of principles related to coalition‑building, community development, and community‑focused program development.

Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Dynamics, Word, Outlook, Excel).

Pay Range $55,665.00 – $94,631.00 (full‑time)
