Role Description We are seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Community Outreach Manager to serve as a key ambassador for Orange County Animal Allies. This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining meaningful partnerships across our stakeholder ecosystem, including veterinary hospital partners, rescue organizations, shelters, No Empty Bowls collaborators, donors, volunteers, social service agencies, and community members. The Community Outreach Manager plays a critical role in expanding OC Animal Allies’ reach, deepening community trust, and ensuring that the families and pets who need us most know we are here.

A central focus of this role will be building collaborative relationships with the dozens of rescue organizations serving Orange County. We believe that a stronger, more connected animal welfare community benefits every organization and every animal in our region. This position will be instrumental in laying the groundwork for the organization’s “Collaborative Hub”, a planned initiative that will bring together rescue organizations, service providers, and community partners under a shared framework for greater collective impact. The right candidate will be energized by the opportunity to help shape what that future looks like.

Key Responsibilities Partner Relations Serve as the primary point of contact for OC Animal Allies’ veterinary partner network, nurturing existing relationships and identifying opportunities to expand the network Manage and grow collaborations with No Empty Bowls community partners, including food banks, pantries, and social service organizations Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, event sponsors, and allied nonprofits Cultivate active, trust‑based relationships with rescue organizations and shelters throughout Orange County, identifying opportunities for resource sharing, referrals, and joint initiatives Serve as a connector and convener across the local animal welfare community, helping to build the collaborative infrastructure that will support OC Animal Allies’ long‑term Collaborative Hub vision

Donor and Community Engagement Support donor stewardship through personalized outreach, event participation, and impact storytelling that connects supporters to our mission Represent the organization at community events, tabling opportunities, and public forums Identify and cultivate new community engagement opportunities aligned with organization’s programs and values

Program Support and Coordination Collaborate with program staff to connect community partners to OC Animal Allies services, including the Animal Relief Fund, spay/neuter vouchers, and PAWS Therapy Dog programs Support volunteer engagement and retention as it relates to outreach activities Track and report on partnership metrics, outreach activities, and engagement outcomes

Communications Work with the Executive Director to develop outreach materials, talking points, and partner communications Assist with social media content and maintain professional correspondence with partners and community organizations Represent OC Animal Allies’ mission authentically and consistently across all community touchpoints

Professional Representation Uphold and maintain the organization’s reputation as a leader in animal welfare through professional conduct and adherence to organizational values Represent Orange County Animal Allies with integrity in all interactions with the public, partners, and stakeholders

Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Minimum 3 years of experience in community outreach, partnership development, nonprofit programs, or a related field Demonstrated passion for animal welfare and commitment to our mission Exceptional interpersonal skills and a genuine enthusiasm for relationship building Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple partnerships and priorities simultaneously Experience working with diverse communities and a commitment to equity and inclusion Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and cloud‑based systems Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation required Must pass background check and meet pre‑employment requirements

Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skill, but not required Previous nonprofit or animal welfare experience required Experience with donor databases or CRM platforms preferred Familiarity with Orange County's animal

Schedule Full‑time, 40 hours per week

Hours Monday‑Friday, 9:00 AM—5:00 PM

Location Hybrid, remote and in‑person at our Santa Ana office

Salary Range $68,000 to $75,000 annual salary (commensurate with experience)

Probationary Period 90 days
