What your job will be like
Support the design effort for internal high‑technology projects working with Engineers and Scientists. Generate complex designs such as magnets, structures, testing equipment, mechanisms, machine components, vacuum equipment, electromechanical devices, piping systems, and cryostats.
In this job you will
Plan work assignments and maintain schedule.
Produce accurate 3D CAD models for complex systems and components using Siemens NX and Teamcenter PDM, as well as clear‑to‑read piece‑part drawings, manufacturing drawings, and P&IDs.
Turn concepts and ideas into working assemblies and systems with independent thinking.
Present design reviews.
Experience
Required: 9 or more years of relevant experience.
Required: experience producing orthographic mechanical and fabrication drawings.
Education
Required: High School Diploma.
Experience and Education Exchange Education above the minimum may be substituted for experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced knowledge of design and drafting techniques with Siemens NX CAD software to create complex models and drawings of components and assemblies.
Works in a group environment and occasionally independently to produce models and drawings.
Ability to identify problems of moderate complexity and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to check the work of other designers and be familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Performs work with minimal supervision and can supervise other designers.
Salary Range $68,500 - $108,000 (Tech III)
