About this opportunity We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Business Development Director to lead Business & Operations Systems (BOS) business development activities across Market Area Americas. This senior-level position focuses on market development, solution and portfolio strategy, executive-level customer relationships, thought leadership, go-to-market strategy, and marketing initiatives within the BOS domain. The primary goal is to accelerate revenue growth, expand market presence, and shape the future of our BOS offerings for current and potential customers. The role will concentrate on one or more of the following strategic areas: Autonomous Networks, Intent-Driven BSS and Monetization, Services and Autonomous Operations, and AI and Analytics. This position reports to the Head of Americas BOS and serves as a key member of the MACS BOS Leadership Team. The work location is flexible within MACS, with final placement determined during the hiring process.
What you will do
Collaborate with regional Customer Units, account teams, and BOS Client Executives to develop and implement sustainable business growth strategies
Lead go-to-market initiatives for BSS/OSS offerings, including sales acceleration programs, thought‑leadership forums, and knowledge‑sharing workshops
Monitor market dynamics, competitive positioning, and customer demand to influence portfolio relevance
Support execution of the BOS portfolio strategy across MACS, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, customer needs, and evolving market trends
Work closely with MACS BOS domains—Monetization, Orchestration, Core Commerce, Data & Analytics, and Services—as well as global teams to identify and pursue growth opportunities
Drive innovation, differentiation, and value‑proposition development across BOS products and services
Ensure sales readiness and business excellence initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and delivery effectiveness
Lead solution positioning, proposal development, and value‑based selling for large‑scale transformation opportunities
Serve as a senior BOS representative in executive‑level customer engagements and strategic discussions
Represent the organization as a thought leader at industry events, conferences, analyst briefings, and customer forums
Mentor and enable presales and solution teams to ensure cohesive execution of business objectives
The skills you bring
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related field
15+ years of experience in the telecom software industry, with deep expertise in BSS/OSS
Proven success in business development, solution leadership, and portfolio management, particularly with Tier‑1 Communications Service Providers
Strong understanding of telecom networks, IT systems, cloud‑native architectures, 5G/IoT, AI/automation, Autonomous Networks, and digital transformation
Demonstrated experience managing large‑scale deals, partnerships, and presales engagements
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technologies into compelling business value
Strong commercial acumen with a track record of driving revenue growth and strategic partnerships
Executive presence with excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities
Collaborative leadership approach with the ability to mobilize cross‑functional, geographically distributed teams
Passion for innovation, customer success, and long‑term value creation
Strong analytical judgment and decision‑making skills, with the ability to operate effectively in complex and dynamic environments
Prior experience with Ericsson and/or leading telecom software providers is desirable

Your Pay The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Washington: $171,000‑$224,700
Short‑Term Variable Compensation Plan Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro‑ration rules apply.

Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro‑rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
