About the Role
The Sr. Director, Finance Controller is the finance leader for Maple Grove Operations and the primary strategic finance partner to the North America GMVP, Global Supply Chain. The role is accountable for end‑to‑end financial leadership across a complex, multisite region in partnership with site and division finance leaders.
The position leads financial forecasting, budgeting, performance management, internal controls and standard costing through a professional team based in Maple Grove, Minnesota. It follows a hybrid work model requiring presence in the local office at least three days per week.
Responsibilities
Strategic and financial leadership
Serve as the senior finance business partner to the regional GMVP and Finance Controller for Maple Grove Operations
Lead regional and site financial strategy, including targets, forecasts, annual operating planning (AOP) and long‑range planning
Drive financial performance, productivity and value improvement initiatives across the site and region
Lead financial decision‑making across complex manufacturing, distribution and startup environments, including manufacturing transfers and technology expansions
Operational and compliance oversight
Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with statutory, tax, audit and governmental reporting requirements
Oversee standard costing, inventory, capital investments and operational financial metrics
Leadership and talent development
Lead and develop the site finance organization
Provide direction, coaching and mentorship to site finance teams and regional site controllers
Build and sustain a succession pipeline for Global Supply Chain regional finance leadership roles
Act as a finance mentor across the site to elevate talent capability and consistency
Influence and stakeholder management
Partner with divisional vice presidents, regional vice presidents, site vice presidents and global finance leadership
Influence decisions with material impact on regional, network and enterprise financial results
Communicate financial performance, risks and recommendations clearly to senior leaders
Scope and complexity
Lead financial oversight for a region that may include multiple sites, regional consolidation and technology investments
Manage financial scope that may include regional value of production exceeding $1 billion
Navigate high regulatory, tax and operational complexity across geographies
Qualifications
Required qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in progressive finance leadership with accountability for complex financial management, forecasting and performance outcomes
Proven ability to analyze key drivers of financial performance, develop operating plans and translate insights into actionable guidance
Demonstrated experience influencing senior and executive leaders within a matrixed organization
Proven ability to lead, develop and inspire teams while building strong talent pipelines and succession plans
Strong judgment and decision‑making skills in complex, high‑pressure and time‑sensitive environments
Experience driving change and continuous improvement across functions and organizational levels
High standards of integrity, ethics and accountability with a focus on accuracy, controls and financial rigor
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present financial insights, risks and recommendations
Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment
Preferred qualifications
Advanced degree in finance, accounting or a related field
Compensation Minimum Salary: $173,100
Maximum Salary: $328,900
Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education, licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
