Compensation:
$150K–$200K+ Total Earnings | $50K–$70K Base + Commission
Overview A leading provider of fire and life safety solutions is seeking an experienced
Outside Sales Representative
to drive growth across Central and South New Jersey. This role focuses primarily on fire alarm services, including installation, inspection, and recurring service agreements, with additional opportunities to cross-sell broader service offerings. This is a highly visible, client-facing role supported by strong inbound lead flow, offering the ability to build a robust book of business without heavy cold calling.
Position Summary The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for developing new business and expanding relationships with existing clients by selling code-required inspection and service contracts. These services are essential for regulatory compliance, creating a consistent and recurring revenue opportunity. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with experience in fire alarm or related facility services, who thrives in a relationship-driven, territory-based role.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the assigned territory
Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution
Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
Partner with internal teams to maximize lead conversion and client engagement
Conduct in-person meetings and site visits to assess client needs and present solutions
Track and manage sales activity, pipeline, and client interactions
Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory requirements to identify new opportunities
Deliver consistent communication and high-quality service to clients throughout the sales process
Qualifications
3+ years of outside sales experience, ideally within fire alarm, construction, or facility services
Experience selling fire alarm installation, inspection, or service agreements strongly preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
Strong consultative sales approach with excellent communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage a territory and work independently in a field-based role
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CRM experience (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus
Base Salary:
$50K–$70K (commensurate with experience)
Total Compensation:
$150K–$200K+ annually
$130K–$150K achievable at minimum performance levels
Monthly commission structure with strong earning potential
Vehicle allowance + fuel and tolls covered

Hybrid model:
Primarily field-based with work-from-home flexibility
