Role Description
Universal Fluids, LLC is seeking a
Technical Sales Engineer
to support operations and business development across the Rocky Mountain region, including Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico.
This role bridges engineering, operations, and sales, providing technical expertise to support our customers and internal sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drilling fluids and the ability to translate technical knowledge into customer-focused solutions.
in-office position based in Denver, CO. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver drilling fluids (mud) programs for customer applications
Prepare post-well recaps and performance summaries
Build and present quarterly business reviews (QBRs)
Provide technical support during sales calls and client meetings
Collaborate with sales team to identify opportunities and optimize fluid performance
Assist with cost estimates, product recommendations, and program optimization
Support ongoing customer relationships through technical insight and responsiveness
Contribute to continuous improvement of internal technical and sales processes
Qualifications
Strong understanding of oil & gas drilling operations, particularly in the Rockies
Ability to write clear, detailed technical programs and reports
Comfortable interacting with operators, drilling teams, and sales personnel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Willingness to travel as needed within the region
Preferred Experience
Previous role as a Mud Engineer or Technical Sales Engineer
Experience working in Powder River Basin, DJ Basin, Uinta Basin, or San Juan Basin
Familiarity with WBM and OBM systems
