Job Overview
The role supports merchandising design activities by assisting with the preparation, coordination, and installation of model home designs. The position works under direct supervision to complete assigned tasks, organize materials, and support the execution of design concepts that align with community and brand standards. It contributes to project accuracy and efficiency while developing foundational knowledge of merchandising design practices.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with preparing merchandise, décor, and materials for model home installations
Support layout planning and placement of furnishings, artwork, and accessories under the direction of senior team members
Help maintain inventory of décor items, samples, and installation tools
Organize project materials, labels, and documentation to support efficient installation workflows
Participate in on‑site merchandising installations, supporting staging, setup, and cleanup activities
Resolve basic design or logistical questions using prior experience and established procedures
Communicate with internal team members to clarify tasks, schedules, or material requirements
Assist with updating design boards, presentation materials, or inventory records as needed
Engage in self‑development to build merchandising, design, and project coordination skills
Education & Experience Required:
Minimum of 0‑1 years of relevant experience in design, merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Bachelor’s degree in design, merchandising, or a related discipline, or equivalent education
Exposure to basic merchandising, design, or visual presentation concepts
Preferred:
Additional coursework, internships, or academic projects related to merchandising or design
Foundational knowledge of design principles, visual standards, or merchandising concepts
Familiarity with basic design software or tools used in a professional environment
Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of merchandising design principles and visual presentation techniques
Strong organizational and time‑management skills
Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks under direct supervision
Effective communication skills within the team
Problem‑solving ability for routine issues using prior experience and structured evaluation
Physical ability to handle décor items, staging materials, and installation tasks
Proficiency with basic design tools and standard office software
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Customer service mindset when assisting internal stakeholders
Working Conditions Work occurs in model homes, warehouse environments, and office or studio settings. Limited travel may be required to support installations, material pickups, or project coordination.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move within model homes, warehouses, and office environments
Ability to lift, carry, or move décor items, boxes, and installation materials up to moderate weights
Ability to remain in a stationary position during administrative or preparation tasks
Ability to handle merchandise, samples, and staging materials
Ability to operate computers and standard office equipment
Compensation
Base Salary: $60,000-$70,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
Bonus Type: Year‑end Discretionary
