A well-established engineering consultancy is seeking a
Director of Structural Engineering
to lead and grow its bridge engineering function. This is a senior leadership role with a strong focus on technical delivery, team development, and client engagement within the transportation/bridge sector.
Responsibilities
Lead the structural/bridge engineering team, providing both technical and strategic direction
Oversee the design and delivery of complex bridge and transportation projects
Act as Engineer of Record on key projects
Support business development efforts, including client relationship management and proposal development
Mentor and develop engineering staff across multiple levels
Ensure quality, compliance, and consistency across all structural deliverables
Work closely with leadership on growth strategy and market expansion
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
20+ years of experience
in structural engineering, with a strong focus on bridges
Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) – required
Proven experience leading teams and delivering large-scale bridge projects
Strong understanding of DOT standards and industry codes
Track record of client engagement and supporting business development
