What Drives Success
The Instructional Designer II is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining training materials that support organizational learning needs. This role works closely with subject matter experts and internal stakeholders to create clear, engaging and accurate learning solutions. The position primarily supports execution of training initiatives, content updates and development of learner materials across instructor‑led, digital and blended formats.
Key Responsibilities
Develop learner‑centered training materials, including participant guides, instructor guides, job aids and multimedia content.
Translate complex technical or operational information into clear, visually effective and learner‑friendly training materials.
Apply instructional design principles and adult learning practices to create engaging and practical learning experiences.
Design & Development
Partner with subject matter experts to gather information, validate accuracy and align training content with business needs.
Revise and maintain training materials in response to product, process, system or policy changes.
Support the development, organization and rollout of new and existing training programs.
Support course development QA by reviewing content for accuracy, instructional alignment and accessibility.
Evaluation & Improvement
Use learner feedback, assessment results and stakeholder input to improve training materials and overall learner experience.
Assist in tracking learning effectiveness, completion data and performance outcomes to support continuous improvement.
What We Are Looking For Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
2–3 years of experience in instructional design, content development or a related learning role.
Experience in HVACR or a similar technical industry preferred but not required.
Skills & Competencies
Working knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
Proficiency with Articulate 360 required. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (including Premiere Pro and InDesign) preferred.
Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with SMEs and stakeholders.
Adaptable, detail‑oriented and open to feedback in a collaborative work environment.
Portfolio of relevant work preferred. In place of a portfolio, candidates may be invited to complete a short practical exercise to demonstrate their approach.
What We Offer Compensation This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $65,000 and $85,000 annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
