Women’s Empowerment Director
Job Description
The Director of Women’s Empowerment is a key member of the YWCA Management Team and provides leadership, oversight, and supervision for the MotherLove and Getting Ahead programs. This role includes direct supervision of program staff and interns, program and grant administration, and limited direct service through a small caseload of pregnant and parenting teens and young adults.
The Director ensures programs meet funding requirements, deliver strong outcomes, and remain aligned with the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The position requires flexible availability, including some evenings and weekends.

Pay: $60k - $70k annually
Essential Responsibilities Program Leadership & Administration
Supervise the Assistant Director of Women’s Empowerment and program interns.
Oversee program budgets, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements.
Identify and maintain relationships with partner agencies to strengthen referrals and resources.
Monitor and report on program outcomes; recommend adjustments when needed.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting for funders, the CEO, and the annual report.
Maintain up-to-date materials and communication for MotherLove and Getting Ahead programs.
MotherLove Program
Carry a small caseload of 10–15 pregnant or parenting teens and young adults.
Provide monthly home visits using evidence-based curricula (Parents as Teachers, B3) and case management best practices.
Complete intakes, assessments, and referrals to community services as needed.
Support implementation of recent community needs assessment recommendations to expand services for young parents up to age 28.
Oversee incentive program management, group sessions, and community advisory committee.
Supervise volunteer mentors, ensuring high-quality participant support.
Maintain accurate case notes and ensure grant compliance.
Provide transportation to participants as needed.
Getting Ahead in a Just Gettin’ By World Program
Oversee implementation of the 16-session curriculum series, offered three times annually.
Support the Assistant Director with facilitation, case management, and 18 months of follow-up services for program graduates.
Assist with intake, pre-assessment, data collection, and evaluation.
Maintain accurate reporting and participant records.
YWCA Organizational Leadership
Serve as part of the YWCA Management and Strategy Teams.
Act as Manager on Duty on assigned weekends.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluation, and payroll approval.
Provide excellent customer service and promote a welcoming, inclusive environment.
Support organizational initiatives and assume other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Education:
MSW preferred; degree in human services, counseling, psychology, or related field considered.
Experience
Proven experience in program administration and staff supervision.
Experience working with both teenagers and adults preferred.
Experience serving low-income, BIPOC, and marginalized communities preferred.
Skills
Strong written and verbal communication.
Proficiency with Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Excel.
Ability to manage multiple priorities with flexibility.
Additional: Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
Frequent travel to schools, homes, and community sites.
Availability for evening and weekend hours as required.
Local and occasional statewide travel for program activities.
Ability to move throughout the building, sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift or move boxes or program materials.
