Position Summary The Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs plays a critical role in advancing alumni engagement strategy through reunion programming, communications, and regional outreach. This position supports signature engagement events, affinity-based initiatives, and strengthens lifelong connections between alumni and the University of Tampa. The Assistant Director serves as a relationship manager, project lead, and strategic partner within the Office of Alumni Affairs, ensuring alumni experiences are meaningful, well‑executed, and aligned with institutional priorities.

Primary Responsibilities

Lead planning and execution of alumni reunions and special events.

Support and execute key Alumni Weekend programs.

Build alumni events in Raiser Edge and track participation.

Support and execute regional alumni programming in priority markets.

Coordinate travel logistics, host committee engagement, event communications, and on‑site management.

Partner with development colleagues to identify engagement opportunities with high‑capacity alumni.

Develop detailed run‑of‑show documents, timelines, event briefings, and post‑event reports.

Manage and advise the Student Alumni Council.

Manage event budgets, vendor coordination, and logistical planning for alumni programming.

Collaborate with Coordinator of Alumni Affairs on event marketing for both local and regional alumni events.

Work evenings and weekends as needed for alumni events and travel.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

2‑4 years of experience in alumni relations, volunteer management, nonprofit engagement, event planning, or higher education advancement.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Exceptional interpersonal and written communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with high attention to detail.

Work Schedule Monday‑Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Summer: Monday‑Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Full Time/ On Campus
