Position Summary The Maintenance Director will supervise the facility’s day‑to‑day functions as it relates to the interior and grounds, including staffing, supply ordering, and ensuring facility policy and standards are met. The role also encompasses preventive maintenance and urgent repair of all facility equipment, furnishing and grounds upkeep, and providing counsel to management regarding facility issues.
Duties
Responsible for the Preventative Maintenance program and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain all facility equipment, furnishings, grounds, plumbing, and electrical fixtures in a safe condition.
Manage budget, reports, and required documentation.
Respond to repair requests by building staff; promptly address hazardous conditions and equipment. Assist others as requested and act as a working supervisor across all responsibilities.
Oversee fire safety; conduct monthly fire drills in accordance with Life Safety and Federal regulations and participate in general orientation on fire safety.
Chair the Safety Committee and ensure overall safety on the grounds.
Participate in Quality Improvement, OSHA Compliance, staff education, and Department Head meetings.
Handle or supervise snow removal and landscaping.
Maintain on‑call responsibility for off‑hours facility emergencies.
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
Report any known or suspected violations of policy, procedures, regulations, or standards of conduct to the appropriate managers.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum three (3) years of related experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Experience in a long‑term healthcare setting is preferred.
Must have knowledge of general maintenance and functions of all equipment.
Must be able to read, write, and follow oral directions; and have a basic understanding of computer technology.
Must be knowledgeable of Exposure Control Plan for Bloodborne Pathogens and Fire & Disaster Plan, and follow policies and procedures.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.
