Overview The Purchasing Specialist Intern supports the procurement team in managing the purchasing lifecycle of goods and services essential to daily operations. This role provides hands‑on exposure to supplier coordination, purchase order processing, cost analysis, and inventory management. The intern will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure accurate, timely, and cost‑effective purchasing while gaining practical experience in supply chain and procurement best practices.
Through this internship, the Purchasing Specialist Intern will develop strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills while learning how procurement activities align with broader business and operational goals. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in supply chain management, business operations, finance, or related fields.
Responsibilities
Takes part in delivery/product team meetings representing Infrastructure Project Management
Generate file containing PR’s for internal approvals
Submit PR for Project Management approval
Track PO status and inform lead IPM of estimated shipping dates as well as report any delays
Qualifications
Currently studying for a college degree/technical school/etc.
Currently studying for a degree in Software Engineering / Computer Science
Exposure to programming languages (C#, VB, etc.)
Exposure to web frameworks (JavaScript, PHP, etc.)
Exposure to database development (MS SQL, MySQL, etc.)
Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team

Compensation and Benefits At Brightstar, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. The estimated starting compensation range for this role is $14.00 – $24.00 per hour. The actual pay offered may be higher or lower. The Company complies with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is one part of our Total Rewards program. Non‑exempt roles are eligible for irregular discretionary bonuses. In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
