Summer Camp Assistant Director - Mar Vista

6/15/2026 - 8/7/2026 (includes setup/breakdown and orientation) Camp Hours:
8:00 am - 6:00 pm (actual shifts will vary) Hourly Wage:
$22.00 - $24.50 per hour (dependent on experience) Job Responsibilities
Facilitate activities, making connections, and monitoring safety and wellness. Supervise campers personally and maintain organized activity spaces. Oversee activity spaces where campers self‑select activities such as sewing, stop‑motion animation, maker space, performing arts, arts and crafts, and recreational activities. Assist in camp set‑up and breakdown during move‑in and move‑out weekends. Ensure compliance with Camp Policies. Report and record details of notable concerns, incidents, or injuries involving campers or staff. Track and be aware of camper allergies and dietary restrictions. Provide daily updates and photos to campers' profiles. Participate in athletic games and other physical activities. Job Requirements
At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred). Minimum 2 months of experience working in a camp, or 1 year in an education or child‑care setting. Consent to allow Steve & Kate’s to email or text applicants. Will be asked to chaperone campers on off‑site field trips where required. Additional Job Requirements
Past management or leadership experience preferred. On‑site management at camp can be physically demanding, with extended periods on your feet and occasional activity requiring physical exertion. Preferred: Meets local Camp Director qualifications, or is a previous Steve & Kate’s Camp employee. Physical Requirements
Maintain and follow all safety and health rules of the location. Organize and maintain clean and accessible activity spaces. Stand for long periods while supervising children and facilitating activities. Participate in athletic games as required. Benefits
