Overview
We have a job opening for the position of Summer Student Business Administration Intern – Group Sales at BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. The intern will support operational excellence, sales process optimization, and data‑driven decision‑making across Group Sales and ICHRA programs.
Location This is a full‑time internship (40 hrs/week) Monday‑Friday (flexible schedule) located at 1401 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229, in an office environment.
What you’ll do
Assist with the implementation of various activities and programs for assigned business units.
Participate in business unit/department training designed to acquire applicable knowledge and skills.
Research and analyze reports (monthly, quarterly, annually) and provide insights.
Support day‑to‑day business operations to gain an overall view of company operations and workflow.
Identify areas for improvement and communicate findings to management.
Required qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in college and working toward a 4‑year degree in a related field; minimum 12 semester hours earned.
No prior work experience required.
Strong oral and written communication, organizational, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Good planning, multitasking, and listening skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred experience
Technical writing and creating user‑friendly documentation in Microsoft Word.
Process mapping and translating workflows into documented procedures.
Marketing and communications skills tailored to different audiences.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analytics, and data visualization concepts.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, SharePoint for document management.
General familiarity with the Office suite.
At least one year of general work experience (internships, part‑time roles, or academic projects).
