Associate Technical Designer – Swim & Knits
The Role + Purpose
The Associate Technical Designer supports the Technical Design team in maintaining fit, construction, and technical design standards across swimwear and knit categories. This role partners closely with Technical Design, Production, Design, vendors, and overseas factory teams to help ensure styles are executed with consistency, accuracy, and alignment to brand standards from development through bulk approval.
Responsibilities
Assist the Technical Design team in maintaining technical design standards and consistency across swimwear and knit categories.
Evaluate and measure incoming garments to ensure alignment with vendor‑supplied measurements, established fit standards, and construction expectations.
Understand fit history and deadlines that are in place to support timely and accurate execution.
Conduct and lead fittings, communicating clearly with cross‑functional team members.
Build tech packs that include garment sketches, standard sketches, construction sketches and details, technical trims, proper measurements, and grade rules.
Work independently with factories to resolve construction and sewing issues.
Communicate daily with vendors and internal teams to support development and approval milestones.
Track samples and counter samples to ensure all approval dates are met.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Fashion Design, or equivalent work experience in a related area.
2–4 years of technical design experience.
Knowledge of fit, grade rules, and sewing.
Knowledge of patternmaking and draping.
Knowledge of cut‑and‑sew knit fabrics and construction.
Knowledge of swimwear or intimate apparel construction.
Experience with PLM, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Illustrator.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across cross‑functional teams and factories.
Preferred:
Experience supporting swimwear and knit categories.
Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Strong follow‑through and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset.

Salary Range Salary Range: $64,200.00 – $79,600.00
