
Technical Sales Engineer

DCM Manufacturing, Inc. is seeking a proven Sales Engineer for The DFW Metroplex Area. This is an opportunity for an experienced outside sales candidate to join a great team and a successful company. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and maintain long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers based within the assigned travel area.
Ability to follow industry trends to identify new opportunities for potential sales in new and existing markets.
Ability to exhibit a positive, friendly and helpful attitude with customers and to be sensitive to their needs.
Be comfortable and confident initiating outbound calls to prospects.
Complement sales efforts through regular customer visits.
Travel within an assigned sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers.
Research competitors’ products and pricing, as well as monitor the market conditions.
Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects, customers and deadlines.
Attend industry trade shows to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing customers.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Sales, Business or Engineering preferred
1-3 years of outside sales and/or sales account experience is required.
Proven track record in sales
Strong consultative sales skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Must reside in The DFW Metroplex area.
Be a self-starter with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
Excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to influence and drive decisions.
Must be effective at resolving problems and handling stressful situations in a professional manner.
Enthusiast knowledge of automotive aftermarket is a plus.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibility.
FLSA CLASSIFICATION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a salary exempt position which is not eligible for overtime. A minimum of forty (40) hours a week is required.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS This position is required to travel up to 25%.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
This role is expected to spend time in the office and on-site with customers and potential customers.
PPE may be required at times (safety shoes, glasses, hearing protection)
Must possess a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time
Regular phone and computer use is required
REASONING ABILITY Sound judgment and decision-making skills are necessary. Must be able to appropriately prioritize multiple tasks and maintain timeliness for completion.
