
Business Development Representative

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing SaaS sales team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for potential customers — creating interest, qualifying leads, and setting up high-quality meetings for our Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities
Proactively identify, contact, and qualify inbound and outbound leads
Conduct discovery calls to understand prospects’ needs, pain points, and fit for Lightcast solutions
Introduce prospects to the Media Cloud ecosystem and its value proposition
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities
Schedule product demos and sales meetings for Account Executives
Manage outreach sequences through email, calls, social channels, and video messaging
Hit and exceed weekly and monthly KPIs, including activity, meetings booked, and qualified opportunities
Maintain accurate records and activity tracking in HubSpot CRM
Attend networking events and trade shows to build relationships and generate leads.
Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and customer success to improve lead quality and conversion
Stay informed about Lightcast’s expanding features, AI tools, product releases, and competitive landscape
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree and 2-3 years of sales, BDR/SDR, or customer-facing experience (SaaS experience preferred)
Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and interpersonal
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a fast-paced pipeline
High level of resilience and ability to handle objections
Self-motivated mindset with a passion for achieving goals
Comfort using CRM platforms, sales engagement tools, and lead sourcing tools
Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in B2B SaaS or tech sales
Background in streaming, digital media, or MarTech industries
Experience conducting outbound prospecting (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach)
