Music Director / Pastor*
The Music Director/Pastor serves under the direction of the Pastor to lead and develop the musical worship ministry of Newton Baptist Church.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and lead congregational worship for all regular and special services
Recruit, train, rehearse, and pastorally care for worship team members, including instrumentalists, vocalists, choir, and technical volunteers
Oversee rehearsals for choir
Collaborate with other ministry staff to provide musical leadership and support for their programs and events as needed
Offer worship leadership for weddings, funerals, and other church-related occasions
Participate in staff meetings and other planning sessions as required
The title “Pastor” is granted to those who meet the biblical qualifications for pastor.
