H&S Coordinator
Job Description
Responsibilities: The H&S Coordinator will work closely with Safety Consultants in achieving COR status, and then maintain status through audits of the Health & Safety Program. In addition, conduct new worker safety orientation; coordinate and deliver weekly talks on various jobsites. Maintain records. Participate in regular site inspections with Safety Consultants. Review findings and arrange for immediate correction of any infractions. Organize all pre-construction safety activities on all new projects, ensuring all requirements are met before work commences. Organize third party training for all workers and annual start up meeting. Meet with sub-contractors to review requirements of Safety Program and ensure all paperwork is in order. Report and investigate any accident/injury, assist with WSIB claims and RWT programs. Organize and chair company's Joint H&S committee. Manage any damage claims, utility strikes and third-party injury. Investigate and work with management and insurance on reporting and handling of claims. Qualifications
Requirements: Post‑secondary diploma/degree in relevant field. Minimum 3 years of experience in a construction environment. Familiar with COR Safety Program. Ability to travel throughout SW Ontario. Good computer skills.
