Summary: The Maintenance technician has a varied work schedule, maintains all campus buildings HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, grounds including housekeeping, art & environment decorations according to liturgical seasons, supports ministries room setups, and is ultimately responsible for the cleanliness of all facilities. The Maintenance Technician reports to the Principal and the Archdiocesan Facilities Manager.

Work Schedule: full-time

Early mornings to evenings (hours to be determined), Monday through Friday, with some weekends.

Responsibilities

Performs tasks as assigned by the Archdiocesan Facilities Manager.

Communicates well with supervisors, peers, and visitors to campus.

Reports maintenance issues to the appropriate party for action.

Responds to emergency maintenance or facility defects.

Weekend on-call flexibility and/or seasonal needs.

Maintains clean, safe, and orderly work environment.

Works well with outside contractors on maintenance issues.

Manage other responsibilities that may be needed and as assigned by the Pastor.

Qualifications

Experience w/ power tools, upkeep. Meeting room setups (moving, carrying tables, chairs). Periodic heavy loads, max +/- 50#. Climbing ladders, max 12' folding, 20' extension. Seasonal construction, assembly. Computer data entry, email, internet search, web-based training.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); with one to three years related experience and/or training.

Community building, and Outreach Center for support to the needy; the staff administration building.

Bilingual a plus (not required).

Computer Skills

Ability to operate Microsoft Outlook, work order platform, and basic mobile device applications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must possess current driver's license.

Must pass background check.

Must complete Archdiocesan Safe Haven training, once hired.

Position Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Must occasionally lift and/or move heavy items.

Must be comfortable with, and able to work from a ladder up to 20 feet and an elevated platform up to 40 feet.

Must be able to work independently without continuous direct supervision.

Must be able to interpret and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, and diagram form.

Must be able to always interact in a professional manner with others on campus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is to be cognizant of classroom instruction within the school day, not bringing harsh chemicals around students.

May require inside or outside job.

Must be able to stand on ladder in changing lights, etc., and performing physical labor when necessary.
