Position Summary The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall program of education. Priority is given to high standards of both academic and athletic quality - the goal being the complete development of the student-athlete.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field from an accredited four‑year college or university. 2‑4 years of graphic design experience within a collegiate athletic department (intern/full‑time). Experience and skill in Adobe After Effects and motion graphics, and Photography and photo editing experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The position will focus on the creation of social motion and still graphics to tell stories, in addition to supporting other digital and printed materials for all 17 varsity sports.
Produce still and motion graphics for digital platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to tell stories and highlight successes of App State Athletics.
Create graphics and images for use on appstatesports.com and other owned‑digital platforms.
Support in the creation of designs for a variety of mediums, marketing collateral, social media, print materials, advertisements, digital design elements, templates, and email etc., within the established brand identity.
Responsible for creating and maintaining creative calendar to assist with production timelines and scheduling.
Work closely with the Marketing, Strategic Communications, Sports Productions, and associated external units on design assignments, from initial concept to completion.
Provide design support to all groups within the Athletics department.
Maintain quality control of content and support design strategy and execution.
Inspect proofs for accuracy and adherence to appropriate production standards.
Other duties as assigned.
