Athletics Graphic Designer

Position Summary The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall program of education. Priority is given to high standards of both academic and athletic quality - the goal being the complete development of the student-athlete.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred Qualifications Basic photography skills, photo editing and video editing; Adobe Premiere and After Effects knowledge; working knowledge of collegiate athletics and game day/sport event environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Produce still and motion graphics and other digital assets for App State's official athletics website, athletics social media, marketing platforms (e.g., video boards) and promotional print materials (e.g., posters, schedule cards, etc.).
Create graphics for the use of App State varsity sport programs.
Provide design elements and support for social media strategies and content for official athletics social media accounts.
Provide additional content management for sport social media accounts (such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) with a strong emphasis on in-game content to maximize coverage, interaction and growth.
Assist ticketing and marketing operations in creating unique and original content to enhance ticket sales, increase fan engagement and promote fan experience.
Work closely with the Marketing, Strategic Communications, Sports Productions, and associated external units on design assignments, from initial concept to completion.
Assist with game days, photoshoots and have the ability to travel to cover away events as needed.
Provide design support to all groups within the Athletics department.
Other duties as assigned.
